Yet another tough Tuesday time trial with winds gusting from the WSW at about 40kph. Nine women rode the event, and four actually managed to equal or improve upon their previous season-series best - probably benefiting from the lowish air pressure and taking full advantage of the wind speed on the outward leg of the course. Here is a graph showing ho w tonignt's participants have done so far this season. There was a fair amount of motor traffic tonight which delayed several riders at the turn-around - Dianne Marleau being the most inconvenienced. More worrisome this season has been the number of men that have started riding in close proximity to WTT participants during the event. This interferes with our race. We don't really want to waste air during the time trial asking these men not to draft off of us, or worse yet to give us a draft off of them, especially when such a communication is not even heard by a rider who is plugged into some motivational fortissimo piece of music!
